Introduced in 2016 as a prototype, the Garia golf cart, which has all the visual appeal and substance of a Mercedes-Benz, will be formally debuted in Geneva this month. The little dash of links-hopping flash will be produced as a limited-edition vehicle and offered for sale to those golfers who have refused to abandon all hope of a better conveyance for hole-to-hole ferrying.

The Garia is the brainchild of a group of Scandinavian designers, who astutely recognized the lack of a high-end golf cart. The idea makes sense, and could be a hole-in-one for the company. There’s a lot of green traipsing the greens of the world, and those old utilitarian golf carts do entirely lack a sense of style.

Garia calls their golf cart the ‘golf car,’ and the title does fit the vehicle. It looks far better than the standard four-wheelers used by golfers, with a Euro aesthetic, leather upholstery, and even headlamps. And Daimler approves, naturally.

Garia would be quick to add that performance and connectivity are as much a part of the picture as looks, though. The golf car is possessed of a double wishbone suspension, disc brakes, 14” rims, and a 50-mile range via its lithium-ion battery. It is fully smart-equipped with Bluetooth, a touchscreen, and internet connectivity. It’s also equipped with hi-fi speakers. And—perhaps best of all—it features a small onboard fridge. Cool, indeed.
