The electric single-rider hydrofoil is an entirely novel design: it combines the experiences of riding a bicycle and skimming across the water thanks to a propeller that helps riders glide across the water’s surface. The New Zealand-based company spent six years developing the technology, and that dedication is displayed in the quality of the bike’s build.

The XE-1 gets its power from a 400W motor that’s both powerful and quiet. When paired with the ultra-light carbon-fiber frame, the Hydrofoil literally glides through the water with ease.

For those worried about the learning curve, the e-bike is actually pretty easy to get back on since it can be relaunched even when out in deep water.  The unique new water toy is also equipped for rivers, lakes, and oceans.
