Swiss watchmaker Vacheron Constantin has introduced a new addition to its Platine Excellence wristwatch collection.

The Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle Complete Calendar Collection Excellence Platine fits right into the luxe lineup. It’s a beautiful platinum model with a number of special features. But the use of platinum is the focus.

The Geneva-based manufacturer emphasized the precious metal in the design, and on the dial, with a “Pt950” signature set at 4:30 so wearers never forget that their case and dial are crafted from 95 percent platinum.

Even though the new example boasts a full calendar dial, the design is clean and uncluttered, with legible markers, and the considerable appeal of the understated. Other features include a railroad-style minute track circling the dial, bi-faceted hands and hour markers, and a moon phase indicator at 6 o’clock.

The 41mm case was designed for comfort, but it’s also water resistant to 98 feet. In addition, Vacheron Constantin’s new timepiece boasts a Calibre 2460 QCL movement with 40 hours of power reserve that is visible via the sapphire exhibition caseback.
