General Motors has introduced its 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 supercar. The newest Corvette looks entirely American, but it is ready to compete with automakers like Ferrari.
The beautiful, high-performance convertible is able to keep up with the best of the best thanks to a super-efficient 6.2-liter V8 that produces 755 hp. Customers may opt for the seven-speed manual or the eight-speed automatic gearboxes; the manual is the baseline transmission.
The sports car won’t boast the same pavement-scorching max speed…212 mph…as the hardtop model. But Chevrolet confidently announced that it will have a top speed of more than 200 mph. The only structural changes needed for the open-top design were accommodations for the folding roof and adjusting the location of the seatbelt mounts.
The 2019 Corvette ZR1 convertible will be available starting at $123,995; the hardtop ZR1 has a starting price of $119,995. Drivers can also opt to add an aerodynamics package to either variation, for an additional $2,995.
