Luxury auto tuner Brabus has introduced its Brabus 900, a striking new take on the Mercedes-Maybach S 650.
Even though Mercedes already upgraded its luxury S-Class sedan by adding the AMG S65’s twin-turbo V12, the tuner opted to add even more power. The standout of the newly modified S-Class series is the Maybach S650, but for Brabus it only provided a foundation to build upon.
Brabus began by upping the engine from 6.0 liters to 6.3 liters. The expert tuners also added new connecting rods, pistons, turbochargers, crankshaft, and exhaust system. Finally, a number of aerodynamic carbon-fiber upgrades strengthen and help provide the dashing look. The revised S650 puts out 888 hp.
All that horsepower leads to a zero-to-62 mph leap of only 3.7 seconds; the car tops out at 217 mph. Considering the size and weight of the sedan, that’s more than impressive.
The Mercedes tuner is offering the same upgrade package for the S600, and the AMG S65.
