The Central Park South apartment of late Opera legend Luciano Pavarotti has sold for $9 million. Located in the historic Hampshire House building, the two-bedroom apartment was originally listed for $13.7 million.

It took nearly three years on and off the market to find the right buyer for the NYC unit, but the length of the listing isn’t indicative of the beauty of the apartment. The clean lines and unassuming sophistication of the home is matched by the effortless flow of its layout.

After two years, the 2,100-square-foot unit’s price was reduced to $10.5 million before finally being reduced to its selling price of $9 million. The new owner is believed to be singer Alva Craft.

In addition to unparalleled views of Central Park and the Midtown skyline, some of the apartment’s most beautiful features include fairly spectacular oak herringbone floors, and 10.5-foot beamed ceilings.

Pavarotti died in 2007, but his widow didn’t list the 23rd-floor unit until 2014.
