Former Metallica bassist Jason Newsted has listed his Montana ranch for $4.95 million.
The heavy metal musician’s 545-acre property is located near Lost Trail Powder Mountain and the Anaconda-Pintler Wilderness in Sula, and is a striking example of a luxury ranch home. In addition to the beautiful views of the nearby plains and mountain peaks, the estate, which was dubbed Rockin JN Ranch, boasts a number of unique features.
Built in 2006, the 5,800-square-foot main home’s rustic contemporary vibe employs stone floors, walls of windows, and extensive woodwork for its atmosphere. The cathedral-style ceilings present a good sense of scale, and give the open living room a bright and airy feel. The open-plan living space includes a well-appointed kitchen with a walk-in pantry, a dumbwaiter, and a center island.
Downstairs is a recreation space/art studio with a special accent wall crafted from exotic wood straight from the Gibson guitar factory. Back up top is a large lofted bonus room set directly above the master suite. Panoramic views from the master take in the expanses of Big Sky.
In addition to the custom timber-framed house, there’s also a greenhouse, a manager’s house, machine shops, and additional structures on the property.
