Boutique audio brand Bang & Olufsen has paired with filmmaker David Lynch to introduce a limited-edition new speaker. Like Lynch’s mysteries ‘Blue Velvet’ and ‘Twin Peaks’, the speaker merges mid-century American sensibilities and a decidedly avant-garde design expression. But it won’t play Roy Orbison’s ‘In Dreams’ as an endless loop…unless you’re in the mood.
The limited-edition A9 speaker features a custom lithographic Kvadrat speaker cover, which presents Lynch’s iconic “Paris Suite” works as the face of the speaker. Characteristically, the result is marvelously cryptic. The answers are down on Lincoln Street. Although the speaker will be on display at the MoMA Design Store in NYC.
Set to debut at Lynch’s Festival of Disruption, each of the 30 units produced will be numbered and signed by Lynch. The B&O x David Lynch A9 “Paris Suite” Speaker is available for $2,999, and a portion of the proceeds will go to the David Lynch Foundation.
