The Bel-Air manse belonging to late writer Jackie Collins has just been picked up for $5.1 million. The home had been on the market for about three months, and sold for $150,000 more than its $4.95 million asking price.

The novelist’s 1960s ranch is set on almost an acre behind wrought iron fencing and gates. The L.A.-area home is surrounded by the nearby canyon and plenty of mature trees, and represented a great find for the area.

The 4,150 square feet of living area boast open and airy spaces, including a living room with a fireplace, a modern kitchen, a skylight-lit entry area, and a beautiful formal dining room. In addition, there’s also a wood-paneled study with French doors where one could imagine the iconic writer crafting her romantic narratives.

In addition to four bedrooms and 4.25 bathrooms inside, the backyard is well appointed with a swimming pool, a brick patio, and lush, well-groomed greenery.

Collins, who passed two years ago, was known for tales of romantic intrigue. Her books have sold more than 500 million copies worldwide to date.
