Renovo has just introduced a sculptural new bicycle crafted from carbon and wood. It may be one of the most startlingly beautiful bikes, an artful merging of tech and natural fiber.
The Aerowood endurance bike is crafted in Portland, Oregon, with the goal of offering cyclists an incredibly smooth, eye-catching ride. The hollow, wood frame is able to absorb four times the vibration of traditional materials.
The sleek bicycle represents the culmination of about a decade of work with wood and carbon designs. In fact, the unique frame is touted as offering the best “stiffness to smoothness” ratio available, and a silent ride to boot. An aero downtube and a shrouded rear wheel help to reduce wind resistance, giving the bike unusual stability and comfort on the road.
The Aerowood frameset is available at $5,500; complete units are priced at just shy of $10K.
