BMW is set to celebrate its 40th anniversary with the announcement of a special Jahre edition of the 7 Series model. The sedan has been dubbed the BMW 7 Series Edition 40 Jahre.
The new special Jahre edition will make its debut at the 2017 Frankfurt International Motor Show. BMW will limit the special 7 Series model to 200 units, with each version being customized to match its future owner’s desire at the German brand’s Dingofling plant.
The 40 Jahre edition will come in two exclusive color options: BMWs Frozen Silver metallic, and a specially mixed Petrol Mica metallic. The Mica hue is a unique take on the popular blue shade of mini BMW luxury models.
Currently in its sixth generation, the special-edition BMW 7 Series sedans will be available in any of the engine configurations that the German brand currently offers for the model lineup. Some of the power plant options include the 3.0-liter six-cylinder that makes 322 hp, the 4.4-liter V8 that makes 445 hp, a V12 option that packs an impressive 601 hp, and a 2.0-liter plug-in hybrid version which offers 322 hp.
BMW has revealed that a select number of the special-edition models will be coming stateside, though pricing information and further specs are still unavailable.
