McIntosh Labs has been crafting advanced hi-fi for over half a century. If there’s one name in stereo components that resonates with audiophile credibility, it’s McIntosh.

Now the serious stereophiles have gone and build the most powerful amplifier they’ve ever made, the MA9000.

The MA9000 is a wicked two-channel integrated that’s able to produce 300 watts-per-channel. The amplifier is power band rated for 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequencies and a system that is kept cool by McIntosh’s new Monogrammed Heatsinks.

McIntosh wanted to produce a contemporary piece of equipment that still resonated with analog relevance, and they did that. The MA9000 is equipped with 10 analog connections, with digital connections possible through two coax, two optical, one USB, and one proprietary MCT inputs.

While quite large at 101 lbs, it’s stylish, too, in that classically imposing, bulletproof McIntosh manner, and features black glass and blue power meters for cosmetics. Of course, McIntosh has never been entry-level, and the MA9000 is targeted toward true audiophiles with a $10,500 price tag.
