The well-appointed Greenwich, Connecticut, estate of famed shoe designer Vince Camuto has been listed for $25 million.
Camuto purchased the mansion in a decaying state in the 1980s, turning the diamond in the rough into a well-shaped gem.
The opulent and ornate 16,000-square-foot manse holds 11 bedrooms, 14 full bathrooms, and seven half-baths. Of course, given Camuto’s background in design, the mansion comes with some fascinating features, including a 20-foot ceiling embellished with fiber optic stars and antique wood paneling.
The estate includes stunning gardens, a massive courtyard, a pool and hot tub with a grotto, a pool house with two bathrooms, a two-bedroom guest home, and a stone tennis house with an additional bathroom. The sale of the Camuto mansion comes with a 14-acre land trust, while an additional 23.34 acres of adjacent land are available in a separate sale.
Camuto passed away in 2015 at the age of 78. While the Greenwich estate may be his piece de resistance, his name lives on through his eponymous shoe brand, and store locations around the globe.
