The new 38 Soft Top, 38 Open, and 42 Walkaround from Turkish yard Mazu are set to debut at the 2017 Cannes Yachting Festival in September. This is a little late for making it in time for summer cruising, so these models will be hitting the water throughout 2018.
The Turkish shipyard brought designer Haklit Yukay onboard to create the new 38 Soft Top, which offers a military-inspired exterior and is intended to be used as a tender for a superyacht. The interior is decked out with impressive leathers and fabrics from Foglizzo, while well-placed mirrors create the illusion of a larger space. Powering the vessel are a pair of Volvo Penta IPS 400 engines that give the 38 Soft Open a max speed of up to 34 knots.
Next is the 38 Open, which offers an alfresco dining area and a galley in the cockpit, with an additional interior galley with a full range of Gaggenau appliances. The same engine setup powers the 38 Open to a top speed of 45 knots.
The 42 Walkaround also offers military-derived influences to the design, but thanks to an open bow, side passages, and a large swim platform, this Mazu yacht is the perfect peacetime day vessel. The 42 Walkaround also offers two lounges, a small table, sunbeds, and a super futuristic helm. Powering the largest of the three new ships are twin Volvo IPS 600 engines that give the boat a max speed of 47 knots, and a cruising speed of 32 knots.
