At last! Apple has finally unveiled its rival to the Amazon Alexa and Google Home devices. And it looks like it’ll give the competition a run for its money, as usual.

Dubbed HomePod, the new wireless home speaker was designed with sound quality in mind. The new device features spatial awareness technology so it can “read the room” and adjust audio settings for optimal sound.

HomePod is a cylindrical white speaker with an Apple woofer and seven beam-forming tweeters. It contains six microphones so users can interact with the speaker from across a room. While designed mainly as a speaker, the unit’s native Siri intelligence will be able to conduct advanced music library searches.

“HomePod packs powerful speaker technology, Siri intelligence, and wireless access to the entire Apple music library into a beautiful speaker that is less than 7 inches tall, can rock most any room with distortion-free music, and be a helpful assistant around your home,” said Apple’s Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing Philip Schiller.

Available for $349, HomePod will be in stores this December, and Apple fans can finally add another item to their Apple collection.
