Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel Spend $20M on Penthouse in Tribeca’s Star-Studded 443 Greenwich

Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel have purchased a penthouse at 443 Greenwich. The couple had been flirting with buying in the ultra-green and very private building earlier this year. Timberlake, via an LLC, recently dropped over $20 million on the unit, sealing the deal definitively. The asking price of the property prior to the sale was $27.5 million.

443 Greenwich is quite the hot building; the developers have billed it as press-proof, and it incorporates luxuries galore, balancing excess with eco-consciousness. For an ultra-luxe building, that’s smart marketing. And a lot of celebrities want in…except Mike Myers, who famously bought and then listed a unit in the flashy 21st century revision of an 1880’s industrial structure, selling it at a loss less than two months later in what was probably a failed bid at flipping.

The building is striking, and almost unbelievably tasteful, if a little bland. The interior architecture is an effective blend of minimalism, and reclaimed or sustainable materials. The reclaimed beams and supporting pillars define the loft-like spaces. The building follows suit with upscale Village fashion, and uses plain steel windows for an unadorned look that doesn’t distract from the views of the city.

The views of New York may also be taken in from the penthouse’s large terrace; measuring several thousand square feet, it nicely augments the interior living space of the unit, which spans about 5,400 square feet.

Actor Jennifer Lawrence and Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton are among the celebrities who own in 443 Greenwich.

Justin Timberlake will be appearing in a supporting role in the next Woody Allen film, ‘Wonder Wheels.’ Jessica Biel appears in the upcoming Rob Reiner film ‘Shock and Awe.’
