Lotus has reached into its bag of tricks—as well as into its own racing heritage—for the fleet little number pictured below. They’re calling it the Evora Sport 410 GP edition, and it’s a spinoff of the Sport 410 model, which is capped at 150 examples annually. The 410 GP, though, in its formal black and gold tux, will be limited to just five examples overall.

Black and gold were the colors of sponsorship, in Lotus’ more historic years of competition. But it’s a natural fit for all the carbon fiber that’s been incorporated into the 410. Among other parts, the rear diffuser and quarter panels, and sections of the roof and front end, have been fabricated out of the super-stiff, ultra-light material. Weight relief also comes via new wheels, new battery, and none of that pesky sound deadening to beef it up on the scale. The upshot is that the 410 is considerably leaner and lighter than the Evora 400.

Which helps to enable its 3.5L supercharged V6 to take the 410 to the upper limits of the 100’s; the car will hit 180 if you want it to. Its 410 horsepower will take it to 60 in 3.9 seconds. Downforce, the company claims, is a 100% improvement over the Evora 400. The standard gearbox is a six-speed manual, although a six-speed automatic is optional. But that aluminum stick looks like fun.

At less than one and a half tons, the Evora 410 is light, very quick, and very pleasing to the eye. The flashy black-and-gold GP is priced at $110,000; less severely limited-ed cosmetics bring the price down to about $104K.
