Hysek is celebrating a few anniversaries this year, including its 20th as a company and its 10th as a full-fledged manufacturer, with the release of the new Colossal Grande Complication.

The watch is a spiritual sequel to the Grand Complication Colosso, the brand’s first in-house manufacture laden timepiece, which came in an unusual case and featured a number of complications.

The new Colossal Grande Complication comes in the now-famed Hysek Colosso case, which measures in at 44mm wide, 57mm lug to lug, and comes in 18k rose gold.

Powering the Hysek masterpiece is its HW80 caliber that took the Swiss brand three years to develop and assemble. Each movement takes 240 hours to complete because of the 1080 components, 61 bridges, and 7 ceramic balls used in the buildup.

The Grande beats at 4Hz, and offers a power reserve of 45 hours. But it’s the visuals that impress: a busy series of mechanics that suggest the history of machinery in a universal context, harkening back to 17th century cosmology.

Only eight examples of the Hysek Colossal Grande Complication will be made, and no official price has been set—apart from the company ‘s assertion that it would be priced at less than $700,000.
