Scott Brooks—head coach of the Washington Wizards—has closed on his home in Newport Beach. Brooks accepted $2.35 million for the property, which had been listed at $2.6 million about two months ago. He purchased the house in 2010, for a little over $1.6 million.

The house—which is situated in Corona del Mar—was constructed in 1969, and measures a little over 2,600 square feet. It contains four bedrooms and three baths.

With a stucco exterior, the design incorporates some Mediterranean elements, but looks pretty traditional. The interior features open-trussed ceilings, wide-plank oak floors, and whitewashed walls. The staircase, entirely in oak, is appealing, and features paneled wainscoting as an accent. The back of the house makes generous use of glass, and the open-concept kitchen and family room, with fireplace, is undoubtedly where the new owners will spend much of their time. French doors open onto the pool and patio area, and there is a pergola over the outdoor dining area, as well as a grill and outdoor kitchen with a counter in cobalt blue tile. Matching blue tile accents the spa and pool, and brick adds a nice contrast.

Scott Brooks played in the NBA for ten seasons; he spent time with the 76ers, the Rockets and the Knicks before becoming a coach. In 2009, he became head coach for the Seattle Supersonics, now the Oklahoma City Thunder. He was named NBA coach of the year for his first season as head coach.

He has been with the Wizards since 2016.
