Have a look at Bang & Olufsen’s BeoSound Shape. The unit incorporates an entire sound system into a hanging piece which could be mistaken for a bit of geometrically-inclined modern art.

The BeoSound Shape is an all-in-one, modular hexagonal speaker system that is built to easily blend into any home. It fits onto a wall in modular groups and can extend to as many as 44 individual tiles, making it a statement piece as well as an entertainment system.

All of the tiles of the geometrically designed system serve a purpose, some even holding storage room for cable and power strips as they add to the mechanical foundation.

The BeoSound Shape starter kit, if you will, starts off with eight total tiles, including four speakers, a Core unit that connects everything wirelessly, a pair of acoustic dampers, and an 8×80 Watt (Class D) amplifier. More tiles can be added on to expand both the volume output and the overall presence of the system throughout a room.

Sound and music coming from the BeoSound Shape is controlled using AirPlay, Chromecast, QPlay 2.0, Spotify Connect, and any other source device via Bluetooth.

Bang & Olufsen admits the BeoSound Shape isn’t up to the same sound standards as its behemoth sound makers like the BeoLab 90, but the Shape wall speaker system is as much about integration of form and function as it is about music.
