Chloë Sevigny Gets $2.7M for Apartment Overlooking Brooklyn’s Prospect Park

Chloe Sevigny sold her Park Slope apartment for $2.7 million, very close to the $2.75 million asking price. The actor listed the apartment in late December of last year.

Located at 9 Prospect Park West, with views overlooking the park, the apartment measures a little more than 2,000 square feet, and contains four bedrooms and three baths.

The apartment contains some fairly classic features: the foyer’s black-on-white tile, a decorative fireplace, a set of French doors, chevron-pattern hardwood, subway tile are all comforting tropes. There is a library, but it’s not a formal, wood-paneled affair; a little alcove, it emphasizes the act of reading.

Cool tones are a good contrast for the blanched wood floors and black-and-white tile, and lighting is tasteful; simple sconces and pendants, an unusually effective chandelier in the dining room, a bit of Bauhaus in the reading alcove.

Ceilings are fairly high—ten feet, probably—giving the apartment a nice sense of space. The master bedroom, in particular, is generously proportioned, and the greenery outside the windows offers a little taste of Prospect Park, just outside the door.

The building is considered one of the more venerable in Brooklyn; with Prospect Park as its front yard, its historical appeal, and the relatively reasonable pricing compared to big sibling Manhattan, such apartments have much going for them in sales potential.

Chloe Sevigny has been an in-demand actor since her career launched in ‘Kids,’ and Steve Buscemi’s first crack at writing/directing, ‘Trees Lounge.’ Last year Sevigny herself gave writer-directing a shot, adapting the short story ‘Kitty.’
