Wireless Bluetooth keyboards have changed the writing game by giving users a way to personalize the way they type on the smart devices and computers. And the retro typewriter keyboard is hotter that hot for aspiring scribblers who crave the antiquated tech experience. Some fetch upwards of a thousand dollars.

Electron’s entry is the PENNA typewriter-inspired Bluetooth keyboard. Not only do the keys of the PENNA respond just like those of a typewriter, but the design also recalls the original typing instrument. There’s even a space for the smart device at the top, replacing the usual piece of paper with a screen.

The PENNA Bluetooth keyboard offers two key options. Writers can opt for the Diamond Shape Keycaps that have rounded corners to help for more accurate typing, or the Retro Chrome Keycaps that appear and feel more like those of an old typewriter.

PENNA is also a smart keyboard, with volume, brightness, and a macro bar that can save often used words and fill them in easily. The Bluetooth keyboard is designed to work with Windows, Android, and iOS devices.

Electron’s PENNA keyboard will be offered on Kickstarter starting on April 6th, and will be available in either Matte Black, Baby Pink, Olive Green, or Pure White finishes.
