The head of Koenigsegg Automotive has designed his own hypercar. If Christian could have his own Koenigsegg, this is what it would look like. He can, so we can move away from the conditional, and right to the description and photos.

Part of the Koenigsegg employee series, and the culmination of it, the vehicle is decked out in blue and gold—midnight blue, and gold leaf. If the colors seem familiar, that’s because they’re the two represented in the Swedish flag—blue represents fidelity, and gold represents largesse.

So this particular Koenigsegg is an ideal vehicle, in more ways than one: a proud display of national pride, a statement of fundamental social idealism, and a hypercar with 1,500 horsepower on tap all at once.

The Regera is limited to 80 examples, and features a hybrid powertrain. The internal combustion engine is a 5.0L twin-turbocharged V8; the three YASA electric motors deliver nearly 700 horsepower alone. The Koenigsegg Direct Drive eliminates a gearbox in favor of a single-speed fixed-gear. The cabin is insulated to reduce operating noise, and the Regera is outfitted with memory foam seats, which in Christian’s custom model are sheathed in russet-colored leather.

Aside from the cosmetic customizations, Christian von Koenigsegg’s Regera is the same mechanical monster as the production model, which stickers at about $2 million. But it’s interesting to see how he would choose to option his own unique example.
