If you’re going to be in Manhattan for a few months, and need a place to hang your hat, you may want to consider the cut-rate rental offered by Ivanka Trump. Unable to find a buyer for her UES condo—or a tenant at $15K/monthly—she has listed the property at a reduced rental fee of $13K/monthly. The property is still for sale at December’s initial listing price of $4.1 million.
Trump purchased the property in 2004, for $1.5 million. She and husband Jared Kushner moved to a main residence in the Kalorama neighborhood of D.C in December; they left behind a $10 million penthouse apartment in the same New York building as the available property, but that residence is not presently for sale.
The apartment-for-rent is a two-bedroom, two-bath home with herringbone oak flooring, oversized windows, and a generously proportioned master suite that occupies much of the square footage. The apartment is generally whitewashed, with some cool toning to offset the warm-toned flooring.
The media or family room, with inset bookcases and a library-style rail ladder, adds a little uptown cred to the overall vision. The kitchen is compact, and nicely if generically finished with marble countertops and brushed stainless appliances. Nine-foot ceilings lend a nice sense of space to the somewhat compartmental design, and pocket doors add a pleasing traditional element.
The apartment measures 1,549 square feet.
