Richard Gere’s one-time Noho pied-a-terre is vacant, and for rent. The monthly is $20K. Gere owned the property from 1998 to 2011. He sold it for $2.6 million.

Located in the Silk Building, in Greenwich Village’s Noho neighborhood, the five bedroom loft-style measures 3,570 square feet, and features dark hardwood throughout and oversized windows. The apartment is a classic loft, with a sprawling, open floor plan, columns, and visible plumbing and beams running along the 10’ ceilings. Lighting has been updated to tastefully understated lantern-style fixtures, and there are inset bookcases. Whitewash allows plenty of reflected light; the master bedroom, situated on a corner of the building, is especially bright.

The Silk, a landmarked building, was constructed in 1908, and converted into residential units in 1983 and featured the famous Tower Records branch location on its ground floor. Graced with Italian Renaissance architecture, it is located a short walk from Washington Square Park. Studio apartments start at $2.1 million. Keith Richards and Britney Spears, among others, have been occupants of Silk residences.

The apartment has been renovated extensively since Gere owned it. Gere’s most recent residential purchase in the city occurred last year, when he purchased a residency in Gramercy Park.

Richard Gere’s most recent film role is the lead in the upcoming mystery ‘The Dinner,’ set to be released this year.
