The Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie 2017 in Geneva saw the debut of several fantastic new watches, and one of the best was the new Royal Oak offering from Audemars Piguet.

Over the years, the Royal Oak has truly been Audemars Piguet’s flagship model, and this new offering for 2017 adds a twist to the brand’s tradition: ceramic.

The new ceramic perpetual calendar Royal Oak comes with a black ceramic case that has been given a brushed matte aesthetic. The watch also features a bracelet finished in the same fashion that takes a painstaking 30 hours to complete.

Audemars Piguet equipped its new Royal Oak with the same 5134 caliber that is found in its existing RO QP watch. This is an already proven movement that takes on a perpetual moonphase with a week indicator.

AP has given the ceramic Royal Oak its popular Grande Tapisserie dial finished in slate gray with black registers. This paired with the photorealistic moonphase and the black ceramic case results in a truly a lovely product.

The ceramic perpetual calendar Royal Oak is expected to cost around $85,000, and the reference number is 26579CE.
