Actress Martha Plimpton has expanded her real estate horizons into the Los Angeles market with her recent purchase of a ranch-style cottage above Laurel Canyon and the Sunset Strip for $1.225 million.

The two-bedroom, two-bathroom home measures in at 1,350 square feet and offers breath-taking views of Los Angeles.

Built in the 1950s, the home features era-appropriate architectural elements like board and batten exterior siding, diamond pane windows, and wood-beam ceilings. That doesn’t mean modern amenities have fallen by the wayside with time. Dark-stained hardwood floors run throughout the open-plan design, along with both bathrooms and the kitchen featuring a modern aesthetic.

Sitting on about a quarter-acre lot, the exterior of the home boasts a trellis-shaded brick veranda outside the master bedroom, other terraces, terraced gardens, and a detached two-car garage.

Plimpton, the daughter of actor Keith Carradine and actress Shelly Plimpton, is currently starring on the ABC sitcom “The Real O’Neals.” The actress has also had long runs on the shows “Raising Hope” and “The Good Wife,” winning a Primetime Emmy award for her performance on the latter. ”

Plimpton also owns a Victorian-era townhouse in Brooklyn that she purchased in 2013 after living in the same Upper West Side apartment for 40-plus years.
