Former Northwest Airlines chairman, investor Gary L. Wilson, recently placed his current home (and the former estate of Hollywood socialite Edith Mayer Goetz) on the market for $79 million.

Wilson’s Holmby Hills, California, Georgian-style mansion is situated on more than four acres and measures in at over 20,000 square feet. The 1931-built manse holds 11 bedrooms, and the property comes with three additional guesthouses, a pair of swimming pools, two greenhouses, a tennis court, and even a cable car that allows for access up and down one of the property’s hills.

Inside the luxurious mansion, there is also a screening room that calls back to a more romantic era in Hollywood, which is where Mayer Goetz, and her husband, producer William Goetz, held many a pre-release party and showing for the Tinseltown elite.

Wilson purchased the home from the Goetz Estate in the early 1990s, and when the adjacent property came up for sale, he snatched it up and combined the two plots to create the complex that it is today.

The former Walt Disney Company executive vice president of finance no longer resides on the lavish estate, which is why he is looking to sell. Wilson currently works for Yahoo and CB Richard Ellis. He is also a trustee emeritus at Duke University and serves on the board of the University of Southern California’s Keck School of Medicine.
