Intel and Luxottica have given a new face to fitness tracking with the new Oakley Radar Pace sunglasses.
The Radar Pace may look like a normal pair of fitness shades, even with the removable earbuds, but using biometric sensors and voice-controlled artificial intelligence, these glasses precisely track the wearer’s workout, including heart rate, time, pace, speed, distance, power output, and even cadence.
The Radar Pace shades are geared toward users who prefer to run or bike for their workouts with everything from a gyroscope, an accelerometer, and various sensors for proximity, humidity, and pressure.
The special Oakley/Intel sunglasses also boast Bluetooth connectivity, a microphone to control the voice commands, and a touchpad near the left temple for controlling music and answering phone calls.
The Radar Pace comes with its own connected app and has the ability to connect to other fitness trackers, smartwatches, and smartphones.
Oakley asks $449 for the Radar Pace sunglasses, with each example coming with a case, a charging cable, and ear buds.
