Hillary Clinton may have her hands full with the final leg of one of the most grueling election cycles in American history, but it hasn’t kept her and former president Bill Clinton from closing on some property. Recently, they splashed out $1.16 million for a home next door to their Chappaqua, New York estate. The buy adds more than 1.5 acres and a single-story ranch to their upstate compound.

The home’s Doric-columned pediment, positioned behind a diminutive wall of flagstone, sits against a recessed wall of brick on the home’s facade, which is otherwise dominated by white siding. Inside, there are 3,631 square feet of well-appointed interior space, with glossy hardwood throughout the living areas. The 1979-built house includes three bedrooms—although the listing claims it can easily be converted to four—and three-and-a-half baths.

The purchase of a second home on Old House Lane is reportedly part of a plan to build a secure compound for the entire Clinton clan. The local government recently voted to make the street local-traffic-only. Security has reportedly begun to screen cars at the front of the cul-de-sac.

Other details of note on the house include an ensuite master bedroom with a pair of monstrous walk-ins, a center-islanded “modern chef’s kitchen,” a dining room with a fireplace separated by a pony wall from the main living room, and plenty of open lawns surrounded by mature vegetation.

Between 2007 and 2014, the Clintons reportedly took home a combined $139 million. Not bad for a couple whose net worth was estimated at under $1 million when Bill entered the White House in 1992.
