Saul Hudson—a.k.a. Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash—did some slashing of his own last week, placing his Mulholland Estates home back on the market at a reduced rate of $9.499 million, down from $10.495 million earlier this year.

In the month it was off the market, the 2005-built Mediterranean villa got a bit of a renovation to make it a little more, erm, subdued. Gone are the cheetah-print carpet, gothic adornments and pirate ship chandeliers although a downstairs lounge with DJ booth, recording studio, media room, LED lighting and a “performance pole” remain.

The formal dining room keeps its antique mirrors, though the paint job’s been toned down, while the living room was left untouched by the renovation, still boasting a stone and wood fireplace topped by a mirror and intricately detailed wallpaper.

The chef’s kitchen, with a back-to-back pair of islands and all-white shaker cabinets, sits adjacent to an informal dining area with backyard views, while the grand room features a curvaceous wet bar and white-beamed ceilings in addition to four French doors opening to the grounds. Seven bedrooms, six-and-a-half bathrooms and a den complete the home’s interior offerings.

A covered loggia with a built-in barbecue and a fireplace can be found on the grounds, as can the requisite swimming pool and spa. There’s also a beach volleyball court.

Slash, whose stage name was given to him by actor Seymour Cassel—who commented that the guitarist was, from a young age, “always in a hurry, zipping around from one thing to another”—was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame along with his Guns N’ Roses bandmates back in 2012. He reportedly purchased the home back in 2009 for $7.3 million.
