While there are a plethora of “American Made” watches on the market, most feature movements sourced from other countries like Switzerland. But this is not the case for Weiss Watch Company’s new American Issue Field Watch.
The CAL 1003 mechanical movement featured in the American Issue is manufactured and assembled in Weiss’ Los Angeles-based studio, and it powers the hour and minute dial as well as the second subdial. The naval brass face is finished in patriotic blue, while the case back is made out of clear sapphire crystal to allow its owner and fans a view of the all-American caliber.
The American Issue Field Watch comes with a 316L stainless steel case measuring in at 42 mm and is attached to a burgundy Horween leather strap. Also, the hour and minute hands have been given a Super Luminova treatment that glows off the blue face and raised Arabic numerals nicely and makes the Weiss timepiece easy to read.
Weiss has limited the American Issue Field Watch to a production run of just 50 examples, each of which comes in a bespoke California pine wood box.
