British filmmaker Sir Alan Parker has cut the asking price of his long-tenured residence in the Los Angeles hills above the Sunset Strip. It now stands at $2.895 million, $100,000 less than its last listed price and well below the $4.25 million Parker originally asked when he placed the home on the market a little over a year ago.
Parker purchased the English-style cottage on the border of West Hollywood and Beverly Hills for $840,000 from “M.A.S.H.” actress Loretta Swit in 1987. Measuring in at 2,525 square feet and partially covered in ivy, the humble-for-its-location home holds four bedrooms and four bathrooms.
The two-time Academy Award nominee’s house also includes a formal living room with a baronial carved stone fireplace, a formal dining room, a small office with a built-in desk, and an eat-in kitchen with butcher block countertops and modern commercial-grade appliances. Outside there is also a swimming pool, a separate spa, and multiple dining and lounging areas situated in red-brick terraces.
