A Look at United Airlines’ Newly Redesigned Business Class

PriestmanGoode Design has worked with United Airlines to bring about a global re-branding of its business class experience in both its domestic and international aircraft and lounges.

The comprehensive re-design is called “Polaris” and includes everything from aircraft interiors, in-flight meal services, custom seating, United’s pre-flight lounges, digital media, and a multitude of other offerings to help United Airlines stand out from the crowd.

The new “Polaris” seats are the piece-de-resistance of the entire project. The unique layout was even patented and is more of a private in-flight cabin suite than a traditional airplane seat. These individual cabins feature seat/beds that can stretch out as long as 6-foot-6-inches and include latching doors, integrated storage, a mirror, and a large cocktail table for meals and drinks.

United will first roll out PriestmanGoode’s “Polaris” concept, and especially its special seats, on select international flights starting in December 2016.
