Pop icon Beyoncé and her equally famous rapper husband Jay Z struck out in the Los Angeles real estate market again. This time, it was a $50-million pitch from designer and director Tom Ford that beat the couple out for the former home of “James Bond” producer extraordinaire Albert Broccoli.
The pad in question boasts nine bedrooms and 10 bathrooms and sits on 3.2 acres in Beverly Hills, California. Beyoncé and Jay Z’s bid came up $1 million short at $49 million, according to celebrity gossip titan TMZ.
This isn’t the first time the celebrity couple fell short in trying to settle down in Tinseltown. The duo also missed out on a 23,000-square-foot home featuring a candy room with an M&M tower to Minecraft creator Markus Persson, who paid $70 million in what was at the time a record sale for a single-family home in 90210 history.
It might be a good thing that the couple didn’t scoop up this home though. Beyoncé’s most recent album, titled “Lemonade,” hinted at marital trouble and stirred speculation that Jay-Z cheated on her with another woman.
