BMW has just provided fans with a glimpse into the past with the 2002 Hommage. The concept pays tribute to the Turbo coupe that set the tone for its modern sedans.
The designers of the Hommage concept did make a few changes for a modern take on the past model. Changes included swapping out chrome trim in favor of carbon fiber and adding a hybrid matte and gloss paint job—two features that would’ve never been seen on a car 14 years ago.
There are a few other modern touches on the throwback Turbo, too. The wheel arches are larger and flared out to accommodate wheels from the M Performance line. The headlights have also grown a bit and are a noticeable change from the simple round ones on the original 2002 Turbo.
BMW showed off this most recent Hommage model at last month’s Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este.
