The Pacific Palisades, California, estate of late entertainment industry executive Michael King has been listed for $42 million.

King and his wife, Jena, purchased the parcel in 2002 for $11 million and proceeded to demolish the existing house in favor of building the white-painted brick Georgian-style manse that is now for sale.

The Los Angeles-area mansion measures in at a little over 15,600 square feet and holds seven bedrooms, a dining room with mother of pearl inlaid in its walls, and a 600-square-foot private theater on a 1.5-acre lot.

Other amenities of the property include a swimming pool with an infinity-edge hot tub, a pool house, and a bevy of outdoor spaces for entertainment, including an open-air loggia with an outdoor fireplace.

King, and his brother Roger King, built their father’s syndicator and production company, King World Productions, into such a powerhouse that it sold to CBS Television for $2.5 billion in CBS stock in 2000. Over its lifetime the company distributed popular shows such as “The Little Rascals,” “Hollywood Squares,” “The Geraldo Rivera Show,” and “The Oprah Winfrey Show.”
