Bentley has announced that for the first time since the Mulsanne was reintroduced in 2011, the model will be available in two different lengths.
The Extended Wheelbase Mulsanne adds 10 more inches to the rear passenger compartment that allows the British luxury car brand to include a pair of reclining rear seats, a larger sunroof to the longer model, and optional folding tray tables that are works of art in themselves with over 600 individual parts. The rear cabin also has USB ports for charging, pen holders, and even a fridge between the seats.
The new long-wheelbase option is clearly for owners who will be driven, rather than driving themselves.
Since American car owners usually prefer to drive themselves, Bentley will import the long-wheelbase Mulsanne from England in extremely limited numbers, with the Extended Wheelbase model mostly created for high-end buyers in the Asian market.
Shockingly, the Extended Wheelbase Mulsanne weighs the same as the other versions of the car, meaning the engine is the same 6.75-liter twin-turbocharged V8 that is featured in the standard Mulsanne and Mulsanne Speed, which means it cranks out 505 horsepower and 752 pound-feet of torque.
The Extended Wheelbase version will offer the same bespoke options as the other Mulsanne models with 24 color options for the interior leather and 13 different available veneers.
