The quality of Bluetooth speakers has improved considerably in recent years, meaning the options for how they are used is also growing beyond the usual small-speakers used for parties or beach trips.
Fluance now has helped expand the role of Bluetooth speakers to help owners who want quality sound systems in their home but don’t want to install a home stereo system with the Fi70 speaker.
Standing 36 inches tall on its stand, the Fi70 can emit loud, clean sound with exact precision. The Fi70 has dual 8-inch woofers, which Fluance claims is a world first for Bluetooth speakers, paired with 5-inch woven glass fiber midrange drivers and 1-inch neodymium tweeters.
This is all powered by a 280-watt amplifier, allowing the Fi70 to reach frequencies down to 30Hz, a much lower bass than most standalone speakers.
Fluance thinks the Fi70 can replace other Bluetooth speakers, soundbars, and even home stereo systems thanks to its quality. However, the Fi70 has more than just Bluetooth connectivity; it also has a built-in AM/FM radio, an optical input for TVs, and an auxiliary input for other devices.
At 81 pounds, the Fi70 isn’t too portable, but Fluance sees the speaker as a statement piece. The Fi70 comes in Black Ash, Lucky Bamboo, and Natural Walnut finishes and costs $500.
