Furniture company Carl Hansen & Son has brought the last chair designed by late Danish cabinetmaker Frits Henningsen back to life with the release of the 1952 Signature Chair.

The 1952 Signature is designed with a single curved piece that forms both the seat and back of the chair. The bent wooden framework with tapered U-shaped legs also holds folds of material to create winged sections around the seat.

Originally only 20 of the 1952 chair were made by Henningsen in his own Copenhagen workshop, as were all of his bespoke creations before he passed away in 1965. Carl Hansen & Son were one of only two manufactures the Danish designer worked with in his lifetime and have sold his Windsor Chair for over 70 years.

The 1952 Signature Chair is available in walnut or solid oak, with black leather or fabric upholstery available in a variety of colors.
