The Canary is an intelligent home security system that’s controlled from a mobile phone. The device is 6-inches tall and 3-inches wide. It includes a 720p HD video camera with a 170 degree wide-angle lens and night vision, Wi-Fi, a high-quality microphone and speaker, RGB LEDs, a 3-axis accelerometer, a siren, and multiple sensors for tracking motion, vibration, sound, temperature, humidity, and air quality.
The Canary will send the user an alert if it senses something is wrong. It will detect out of the ordinary sounds and movement to signal a break-in, and will also monitor a sudden change in temperature, which could mean there is a fire. The device learns a home owner’s schedule over time and will send alerts when something out of the ordinary happens. The system starts out at $199.
