Artistic birthday cakes have become more popular in the past several years. Now, one special woman just received the most expensive cake in history, which even features real diamonds.
Debbie Wingham created the ultra-luxurious cake after making the world’s most expensive dress for $13.05 million. Made for an exclusive United Arab Emirates client, it was presented to the client’s daughter for her dual birthday and engagement party.
At six-feet long, the catwalk cake sports several outfits, miniature models, and incredibly intricate details like gowns, designer shoes, and sunglasses. With so many working parts, it took Wingham over 1,100 hours to hand sculpt the culinary creation.
Of course, a cake of this caliber wouldn’t be complete without a 5.2 carat pink diamond, a 6.4 carat yellow diamond, and a total of 15 single five-carat white diamonds. Add in 4000 other stones including amethyst and emeralds, and this cake sparkles with bling.
This fashion-inspired cake beat out the previous record holder made by Tim Smith, which sold for $36.77 million.
