The BMW Motorrad Concept 101 has just been released at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in Lake Como, Italy. BMW’s proposed six-cylinder bagger will have a K1600 base platform and offer 1,649 cc of displacement.
The luxury company paired with Roland Sands to design the 101-cubic inch motorcycle, whose name pays tribute to Highway 101. Concept 101 was developed to capture the spirit of classic American touring with a large, sturdy build and elegant design.
Wood trim panels on the fuel tank, front fairing, and bags add a luxurious element to the concept which features a three-tip exhaust spanning all the way to the rear of the bike.
BMW designed the bike with carbon fiber and aluminum parts for increased performance capabilities, but the interior strength of the machine is what really gives the bike its power.
Fans of the British company have long hoped for a K1600-inspired bike, and the new Motorrad Concept seems to be the next best thing.
