Amazon’s Dash Button Makes Reordering Products a Breeze

Amazon’s Dash Button Makes Reordering Products a Breeze

Amazon has introduced a new way to shop for everyday household items.

The simple concept is called the Dash Button. When you are out of an item, simply press a button and the product will show up at your doorstep.

The buttons can be placed throughout the home. You can put one on your coffee maker for example. If you are running low on coffee press the button to automatically order your favorite brand from Amazon.

The Dash Buttons work in conjunction with the Amazon mobile app. When the user gets their Dash Button they set what product the button is to be connected with using the Amazon app and every time they press the button that product will be shipped to them.

One could imagine how accidentally pressing the button 100 times could result in 100 bags of coffee being delivered. However, no matter how many times the button is pressed, Amazon will only ship and charge for one order until the single order is delivered. Additionally, users have the option to cancel orders upon receiving an alert message on their smartphone.

The Dash Button is currently available by invite to Amazon Prime members. Buyers are limited to three buttons. There has been no word on further release plans, though if the initial run goes well, it is likely Amazon will expand availability.
