Musician Richard Marx’s huge estate located in Lake Bluff, Ill., a city about 30 miles from Chicago, has been listed on the market for $18 million.
The home has 29,475 square feet of living space including seven bedrooms, nine bathrooms, and six half bathrooms. The master bedroom features its own sitting room, walk-in closet, Jacuzzi, and spa. The exterior is five acres and sits just off the shore of Lake Michigan.
The home is characterized by high-arched doorways, French doors, classical-period style light fixtures, and window views of Lake Michigan.
The home also features 19 fireplaces, two separate libraries, a recording studio that has its own kitchen, bedrooms, and bathrooms. There is also a sunroom, a theater, a fitness room, and a game room with a bar.
Marx rose to fame in the early ’90s when he released such songs as “Right Here Waiting” and “Hold on to the Nights.” Marx is selling the home due to his recent divorce from his wife of 25 years. The couple originally bought the home for $4.7 million.
