A small California-based airline company named Surf Air is changing the way airline companies do business by offering an executive membership service to its bigtime clients. The service includes a plane that will fly you to either Burbank San Carlos, Santa Barbara or Hawthorne, California for a flat monthly fee whenever you want.
They began the membership service last year. Members can fly as often as they wish, with an 18-flights-a-day limit. Reserving a seat on the plane only takes seconds. Surf Air is also getting ahead of the competition by decking out their membership planes in private jet-like amenities and services. Add that to the convenience of booking your flight through your smartphone and having a concierge representative check you in and take you to the plane in a matter of minutes and you can see why Surf Air’s membership-based plane service may be the future of the airline industry.
Currently Surf Air has around 400 members. They maintain a fleet of six Swiss-made Pilatus PC-12 airplanes. They plan on expanding their service to Las Vegas shortly. It costs $1,350 a month to become a member.
