Louis Vuitton has revealed its latest horological creations, the Montgolfière Aéro timepieces. Inspired by the maison’s heritage as a storied trunk maker and love of travel, these intricate table clocks riff on the brand’s hot air balloon motif.

First introduced in 1906, Louis Vuitton’s Aéro Trunk was designed to attach to hot air balloons for intrepid explorers. More than a century later, the Montgolfière Aéro clocks channel this spirit of innovation and adventure. The centerpiece of each model is a meticulously crafted hot air balloon, available in either traditional red glass or rare Macassar wood.

To create these tiny balloons, Louis Vuitton artisans employed the same level of artistry found in the Maison’s high jewelry collections. The wood version required painstaking work to match the dark, marbled hues of the Macassar material. Over 1,200 diamonds and custom-cut citrine gemstones adorn the precious creations.

Nestled below each balloon is a miniature trunk, handmade using Louis Vuitton’s time-honored techniques. Although pint-sized, no detail was spared—the trunks feature the Monogram canvas, signature nails, and even tiny brand signatures, just like their full-sized counterparts.

By merging Swiss watchmaking with Louis Vuitton’s specialty craftsmanship, the Montgolfière Aéro represents a new milestone for the brand. Only eight of the Macassar wood style will be produced, making them highly exclusive objets d’art.
