BMW Motorrad has unveiled its 2025 motorcycle lineup, featuring upgraded engines, improved aerodynamics and expanded standard features across the S 1000 RR, M 1000 RR, M 1000 R and S 1000 R models.
Headlining the new superbikes is the track-focused M 1000 RR, with significant internal engine updates for Euro 5+ compliance and 205 hp peak power. Engineers focused on optimizing airflow with new full-shaft titanium valves, oval-shaped intake/exhaust ports and a redesigned combustion chamber.
Aerodynamics also took center stage, with new carbon fiber M Winglets 3.0 generating substantially more downforce for confident cornering. The flex frame’s stiffness was tweaked for precision handling, while the M Quick-Action Throttle’s reduced 58-degree rotation angle allows relaxed control.
The new S 1000 RR likewise gains more downforce via redesigned winglets and brake cooling ducts integrated into the front fender. Throttle response can be customized in the “Race Pro” riding modes, enabled by the upgraded standard Pro Riding Modes package.
Over in the roadster segment, the M 1000 R receives the RR’s dual-flow LED headlight for enhanced illumination, plus refined DTC traction control for optimal track performance.
At 170 hp, the S 1000 R increases power by 5 hp over its predecessor, aided by intake port changes and remapped ECU tuning. The shorter 17/46 secondary gear ratio improves acceleration, while the standard Quick-Action Throttle makes throttle control more comfortable.
Across the lineup, riders will appreciate the new Quick-Action Throttle’s reduced rotation angle for relaxed control without hand repositioning. Plus, all models gain Euro 5+ clean emissions and BMW’s Ultimate Care break-in service.
Stay tuned for pricing and availability later this year as BMW Motorrad opens the throttle on another generation of extreme performance motorcycles.
