Hublot recently unveiled a new timepiece honoring tennis great Novak Djokovic. The Big Bang Unico Novak Djokovic combines innovation, sustainability, and references to the player’s record-breaking 24 Grand Slam singles titles.

Hublot CEO Julien Tornare presented the watch at an exclusive Paris event alongside Djokovic himself. Coming off his historic Olympic gold medal win earlier this year, Djokovic’s presence electrified the audience. As only the fifth player ever to earn the coveted Golden Slam—all four major titles plus Olympic gold—Djokovic has cemented his status as a tennis legend.

For Hublot, the challenge was to create an ultra-lightweight watch using sustainable materials. The solution? A composite of Djokovic’s own HEAD racquets and Lacoste shirts worn during his 2023 season. Fragmented and fused with epoxy resin, the recycled gear forms a unique camo pattern speckling the case and bezel.

Reducing weight even further, Hublot opted for Gorilla Glass over traditional sapphire crystal. At the core lies a modified Unico chronograph movement in anodized aluminum, shedding a third of the weight versus brass. Aluminum components like the bezel and caseback further trim the load. On a blue elastic strap, the watch weighs just 49.5 grams—less than a tennis ball.

Subtle details pay homage to Djokovic’s career, like the curved bezel screws shaped like a ball. His logo marks the oscillating weight and seconds hand. Just 100 numbered editions will be produced, housed in sustainably sourced presentation boxes carved from oak.

The Big Bang Unico Novak Djokovic embodies the tennis champion’s relentless pursuit of excellence. By pushing boundaries in recycled materials and featherweight design, Hublot has created a fitting tribute to one of the greatest tennis players of all time. For Djokovic fans and watch aficionados alike, this limited edition represents a rare chance to own a piece of sports history.
