Audi has unveiled the latest iteration of its popular Q5 SUV, blending proven performance with innovative new features. This cerebral ride glides into the future on a fresh chassis, the Premium Platform Combustion (PPC), allowing for electrification down the road.
Under the hood, an array of engines employ MHEV plus technology, which Audi states will increase efficiency while delivering a burst of torque when needed. This powertrain, the automaker artfully notes, provides “the best of both worlds”—power and fuel economy.
Inside, the Q5 impresses with its Digital Stage, anchored by a curved panoramic OLED touchscreen display. The minimalist cabin exudes an airy, futuristic vibe, while still maintaining the brand’s focus on driver-centric ergonomics.
On the outside, taut lines and a wide stance communicate the SUV’s agile, youthful spirit. Audi waxes poetic about the Q5’s “strikingly designed” LED lighting elements, enabled by an elegant algorithm that brings the physical and digital realms together. Owners can select from various customizable signatures to give their vehicle a unique personality.
While not abandoning its performance roots, the 2025 Q5 leans into comfort and refinement. The suspension smooths out imperfections in the road, while active noise cancellation keeps the cabin serene.
According to Audi CEO Gernot Döllner, this new edition “marks an important step” as the brand transitions to a more sustainable future. Though it still relies on internal combustion, the Q5’s electrified powertrain provides a glimpse into the imminent era of electric mobility.
